I dont have any arguments in steam
I dont have the means to debug steam, which seems to be where the issue is coming from perhaps
I am not sure that is it
Even offline, the game will launch into offline mode, which he seems to not be able to do at all via steam.
Opening playgate.exe though will answer that question super fast.
It checks auth right away
What did you change the 1st time, and what exactly is broke again?
The game has had no patches or updates this week.
Just waited the first time it worked again. I've checked file integrity and other things but only waiting worked.
I am wondering if it is a DNS issue, where its not finding auth.playnet.com and so not launching?
You might try adding one of the google DNS servers to your TCP set up.
Their addresses are 8.8.8.8 and 4.4.4.4
I am not 100% sure though if that would prevent the game screen from appearing entirely?
I dont have inside onfo on how steam handles the game launch.
When running it non steam, playgate makes sure you have connection to server, logs in in and generates a session token, then tells ww2.exe to run and passes it the session token and connection info. If any of that process fails you dont get the game launched but you also know it up front as well as have an error message as to why.
Since steam doesnt use playgate, it must be doing that part up front before it calls ww2.exe
Might make sense to open a ticket at support.playnet.com if you have not already, that would not be an issue the devs would want to go unaddressed.
