How do you transfer items between characters?

So I bought a pile of stuff. And I can't transfer. I think I succeeded once by mashing keyboard. But I think that was luck.
So. I build my party.
(Gold still not working)
Go to maze, turn around and come back.
Got gold
Buy lots of stuff...
Annnnddd.
I have 1 character with all the swords, shields and armour and.. I can't work out how to transfer.
I've pressed all the buttons prompted.
Game definitely still broken on new characters.
I don't remember it being this difficult when I played on PC in the early 80s

It's a little cumbersome, but here is how I do it. I have not seen the option anywhere else:
* Go to the Maze
* Enter Camp
* Select the character holding the item
* Go to the "Inspect" menu
* Select the item you wish to trade
* Select the trade option.

Ya seems to be missing from Tavern inspect should be there. Also I think they start you with no gold so you cannot swap gold to other characters and build up huge amounts like the original but just guessing? Also seems to be missing the pool gold from Trading Plaza

From what I've seen you don't need a "Pool Gold" button anymore because the money already is. The game may say "Each Party Member Earns X Gold" but back in town there's a single gold counter in the upper right corner of the screen.
