Any difference between Apple and DOS versions?
I never played the Apple version as a kid but this game was the 1st RPG I ever played and finished on our 8086.

Any diff between the two versions?

And I am so excited about this remake. Can I do the floppy chest to get all my guys to max level? 😎🤓

I knew you had a chance to lose stats. Didn’t realize it was a bug as a kid. :lunar2019coolpig:

As much as I love my Apple II, when I replay Wizardry 1, I've always gone for the Japanese Super Famicom version with english translation patch. It's extremely faithful to the original but with beautiful music, artwork, and other minor tweaks. At least - it was my goto until this came out.

Strictly speaking, it's not losing stats that is the bug (this can happen on all versions) - it's that the DOS version has a much higher rate than normal of losing them.

I agree, the Super Famicon version was the best implementation of the original game, probably because I had absolutely nothing to do with it...

Robert, my 12 year old self would like to thank you for making a game that occupies such an outsize space in my head. Thanks.

Here here!
My sentiments as well, Trebor. Thanks for being the architect of the first steps on the great tower of CRPGs.

Spells can be used when surprised attack both players and monsters in apple2 version, but IBM PC version and later, spells cannot be used.
