If character is ashed can I get their items?

Ok so playing on the fourth floor I got a certain *Ring*. I went back to town and had my level 1 bishop identiy it, however there was that chance that it would auto equip and it did. I don't care about the bishop, so I took her to die in the dungeon. I couldn't remove the ring even from her corpse. Now I'm wondering if I could get it if she was ash from failed resurrection or if it would just be lost?
