Saving in dungeons
I have saved (either quit to title or quit all together) while in a dungeon (or while in a fight in a dungeon), resumed my game later and still been in the dungeon. Other times, I've been back in town when I resume. I don't get the system here. Is there some logic here? Thanks.

You cant save the game in dungeon, if you abort the game it dont save! When you restart the game it loads the last autosave the game made! this can be a few seconds or a few minutes before you quit the game!

Not sure what you're encountering. Even if you press Alt F4 to close the game, without using menu options. your game is saved before quitting. So if you're still in the Maze, you should still be there upon reloading.

It may be obvious, but you're sure that you're selecting the same Save? It is easy for a slip of the mouse to occur and for a different game to be selected.

Otherwise, the only other glitch I've seen that transports you directly to town is if you are attempting to farm Werdna's amulet, If you have several copies of this item, selecting Exit to Title Menu actually does not take you back. You have to quit the game but upon reloading your save, you will be back in town (Even if you were previously in the Maze) and all your amulets and items are gone, as though you turned them in.

But this is obviously not what you're talking about.

I have my main save in slot 1 and my backup in slot 5 so I'm pretty sure I'm picking the right one. I dunno, I'll have to keep an eye on this to see if it keeps happening

Hiya, I have saved many times in the dungeon. You are right, the save feature in the dungeon is a little Flaky. My experience is it is based on position. Some areas in the dungeon are not save friendly and will bounce back slightly in time.

As an example if you try and save right in front of the chute in level 9, when you log back in you will be back in town.

I did notice that the initial area around the stairway to Floor 7 doesn't save properly. If you attempt to save in that area, you will be back in the previous floor when you reload. And in some rooms, you will actually be in an area a few rooms back, if you reload.

But I never encountered an area that actually takes you all the way back to town. It's too bad to hear that those glitches haven't been ironed out.
