Evil Lord - Evil Samurai - Good Ninja
Has anyone been able to get one of these from Fighting/Leaving Friendly Groups of Monsters?

Want to make sure I'm not wasting my time.

Thanks.

In the SNES version, these alignment changes are quite easy, as the friendly encounters generate very often.

In this version, the rate of such encounters is much reduced so, although it is theoretically possible, the process of using them as an alignment change method seems much slower and less reliable. I guess you could do it if you have a lot of patience.

A good ninja would be the only impossibility with this version unless you leave a good character in the maze and pick them up with your evil ninja and make sure your good alignment is in the front to encounter friendlies. A good Lord and Samurai would be easier as you just keep attacking friendlies until they change. Front alignment determines if you have friendly encounters. Good will have them and evil will never run into friendlies with this version unlike the SNES version.

I have fought numerous Friendlies with a party of 1 Good Samurai, 3 Good Lords, and 2 Neutral Mages. None have yet to turn. =/

It's such a small percentage chance and takes forever unlike the SNES version. I'm pretty sure it;s only a 1% chance per encounter where the SNES feels more like at least 10%. I'm not entirely certain though as I have never looked at the SNES code and haven't gone back to look at the Pascal code for this version in a while.

would you need to go through neutral to get to the other side? or do neutrals not change? i've never seen a change. not now or way back when.

Neutral (in this version) is a static alignment that never changes.

According to Snafaru's fan site odds of changing alignment is a 1/2000 chance per character per encounter. And as stated above only Good parties get friendly encounters and Neutrals never change alignment, so change goes from Good-Evil or Evil-Good.

As long as there is a chance. :)
