People Are Upset About the Music Change, DAN PLEASE READ!
During Early Access, Wizardry had a soundtrack based on the original NES one by Kentaro Haneda and it was really well done. However with the release version many people are really disappointed in the music change, including myself.

Looking at the YouTube comments on videos about this game, this change seems to have gone particularly poorly among the Japanese audience where I found over a dozen comments under a single video complaining about the Music.

A picture of the comments is here with translations: https://prnt.sc/PplsLnU7KEZQ
The video in which these comments can be found: https://youtu.be/XzjBeN0w-LM

I'm not sure why the music was changed since that was one of the best parts about this version and one of the reasons many were excited for it. We at least got the remade title screen music which is great but can we at least get the combat music back? With as much combat as there is in this game, I don't see any reason why the EA battle theme couldn't co-exist with the new ones.

The Wizardry Battle Theme by Haneda on the NES is easily one of the most iconic RPG battle themes of the 8-bit era and having the remix of it in the game is the right choice and needs to be in this game.

For reference, the Early Access battle theme can be heard here: https://youtu.be/ZcnlAnh-7Xo

Please Dan, can we get the battle music back? Please? Thanks.

is there a mod to put the old music in the game?

I haven't seen a mod like that yet but I'm hoping someone makes one.
I agree with upset about music. Very much.
I'm glad I refuse to buy it.
For me, music is an important factor in gameplay.
Yeah, IP and licensing laws suck. Hard. They really get in the way more often than not.
That's why i find Elminage Original's solution to be superior. They where at least clever enough to allow you to import your own in game music and sound. They know perfectly well what tracks the fans want to use.

Music licensing is a lot more difficult than most people realize.
That's disheartening to hear that you weren't able to get the OG music as an option in the game, but I understand.

Aye, it's a really stupid system. For me, whem music is put into a game, the music should then belong to that game. That would mean any remakes can use the same music or the like. It's as bad as authors like Laurel K. Hamilton who sue fanfiction writers. Wouldn't it be nice to live in a more reasonable world not inundated with selfishness and greed? Wishful thinking, I know.
For what it’s worth, I think Winifred Phillips’ score is an excellent substitute. It’s a free download off her Bandcamp profile.

Btw I didn’t realize this until listening to her rendition of the battle music, but the vocals are made up of Wizardry spells. I was like, huh, that’s pretty neat. The battle song’s called, “Wrath of the Wizard,” worth another listen if you didn’t realize this like me.

It's now posted on Youtube:

Wrath of the Wizard

I tried to make out the lyrics but ran into some trouble.

From 0:00 to about 0:10, I think the choir is chanting "Halito...Manifo"

Then the chorus does not return until around 1:58. Again, I hear the words "Halito, Manifo" but the rest quickly becomes difficult to decipher. I thought the next verse was "Dilto", "Lorto" (x2) "Kandi", "Badi", "Mabadi","Dalto" but it's ultimately up to the imagination as to what the choir is actually singing. I don't think all the lyrics are spell names.

Lyrics are on the Bandcamp album page, just select the Wrath of the Wizard track, or look at the copypasta below. Yes, lyrics get muddled towards the end.

Halito! Manifo!

Halito! Manifo!
Milwa! Lorto!
Dialma! Dialko!

Madi!
Molito! Kalki!
Calfo!

Madalto! Lomilwa!
Kadorto! Badialma!

Latumapic! Latumofis!
Malor! Badialma!
5 out of 20 words correct, just through listening, isn't too bad I guess.

However, the Milwa really sounds like Dilto. Even knowing the lyrics now, I just can't hear it.

Also, there is a final verse, after the last Badialma, that isn't written down but which sounds like a repeat of Milwa! Lorto! Dialma!

The piece really should have ended with a "Tiltowait!"

Anyone able to mod the game to add the music yet?
I have no personal attachment to the NES music. I was playing Wizardry in 1981 on an Apple 2+ computer. There was no music aside from some very primitive sound effects when starting up the game. I don't expect this version to mimic the NES version.

"People" may not like the music in this version, but I love it.

I like it as well I just would like the option to play with the other version
I'm just coming back to the game after a few months and I'm NOT happy about the music change either. I never got to experience what the final boss music would have been like.

Sorry, but this just screams incompetence to me. How would you be able to put music into a game in development, without having the right permissions in place?

Seems like someone got greedy.
