Still, I bought it as a token of good faith that this dev, if successful, will refine the game or remaster the rest of the Llygamyn saga. I don't see anyone else stepping up to this task.
But the appeal of this game is not about trying to beat it as quickly as possible for me. It is more about the nostalgic feel of the game while enjoying the journey, Unfortunately, the lack of controlling combat speed as the original game did has taken away that nostalgic fun for me.
I agree, just don't buy it or wait for a sale. Games like these, honestly, don't sell a lot to begin with aside from those that are really into it which in that case, will buy it at the normal entry level price that its at.
So you where willing to buy it twice? Just buy it and play it and when your done let your bro play it.
ONCE MORE!
Gaming is the only industry not to suffer much inflation. If you were to pay for the NES Wizardry at release in today's money, it would be over $130. Games have NEVER been priced based on length, and the remake is at standard remake prices. AND GAMES HAVE NEVER BEEN CHEAPER. Given the work done, I find it insulting that so many people these days are childish and immature enough to think games should be getting cheaper or priced based on length.
I swear, gamers these days are the most entitled in the history. The younger generations are clueless.
You know, I think a lot of people have some valid points about a game that can fit on a floppy disk should not cost $40. People can get whole bundles of remakes/remasters for that much. This is just the source code with some graphics.
$19 in 1980 = $75.99 in 2024 by the way.
You aren't beating this game in 10 hours. It's not that type of game. Howlongtobeat has the median time for beating the main+extras at 33 hours.
Regarding size, I bought a game called Cogmind for like $24 recently. It's 50 mb and worth every cent.
We aren't buying games by the byte, that's ridiculous.
This all without taking into account that this is a historically significant game.
Wizardry and Ultima, which came out at nearly the same time, are a large part of the foundation for cRPG games.
I look forward to picking this up on sale sometime in the future.
