Masopic - not so much. The mage usually has something better to do.
Single caster buff spells - do you mean Mogref, Sopic, etc? I feel they might see more use if they could be targeted at another party member. Even then, fairly corner case.
Mogref/Sopic and Porfic are in theory helpful in longer fights as they decrease the chance of your Samurai and Lords getting hit. Not so useful for those in the backline.
Masopic is not so useful in this game but can be very useful when facing some of the bosses with high magic resistance in later games.
