What is the gold key for?

Don't know what to do with the gold key.

Fun game, but my party got wiped again so I am calling it quits for a while. I will try again when the game comes out of early access.

It will likely be auto used to access a door. Possibly on another floor.

If i remember right, the Gold Key is worthless. Its intended use was never coded into the game. This was later fixed in NES version. But in this version, it does nothing.

In the NES version, the gold key (which is found on the second floor), is needed to enter the dark area on the first floor. In other versions it is bugged, and the game doesn't check to see if you have the gold key.

For the remake, it is on the 4th floor. You need to use the elevator and go north into the hallway with the alarm and then make a right and then the door is down the hall on the right

Good to know since i just started the remake and would have probably assumed the NES use of it and then ignored it when that didnt work, thinking it was like the original
