When i loaded up the game today. it asked me what slot i wanted to use. Since i last quit using the old version, i only had slot 0 available to choose from.

@kadste Yes but did you find how to save to another slot ?
Hello. I had the same issue. Think they mean this here. Someone let me know if this is not what they are referring to. This is the only version I know of. I bought the game yesterday morning.

Seems each saves are separate games (same world/realm, different dimensions).

The game save file(s) are located in: Users/AppData/Local/murphy/saved

Its not a true save (imo) like a lot of the single player games, you have "in game save" or saves during mission (before/after) or save point or point of interests/story, etc,. This is more like a "Steam save" then a "game save".

This save feels more like old school (floppy disks type. make back up copy/save. if/when your party wipes, insert said floppy disk and load last recent save). You have to do often or so.

The one thing you can do in 0.2 is to go inside the Local/murphy/saved/SaveGames directory and copy your PlayerData_0_v1.sav into PlayerData_1_v1.sav .
This will copy your current game from slot 0 into slot 1 as a backup.

Hello. yeah agree. If it is working, I am not getting it. Maybe someone can further explain it or show us how.

fingers crossed. we want a save. not file management.

The "save slot" is for starting a brand new game. There isn't an option to have 5 different saves for the same party. The wording of the post by the dev's is very misleading.
Hello. Yeah totally agree @Cynns. For now using Steam save files to load/save. A lot of folks want a real save, hopefully at some point they will add one. Maybe next year ish?

I can confirm this works. It does help with your characters should something unforseen happen like level drain or insta wipe.

Basically it is a save slot for that game. It will save to it before or after special situations I believe, but dont quote me on that one. What you could do is copy the whole folder to somewhere like your desktop, before you do something amazingly stupid *I often do amazingly stupid* if it goes pear shaped just copy/paste the old save and you are back before the amazing happened.

Reason we dont have regular saves is this game didnt either back in the early 80s. At least they put Murphys Ghost back in the game after much gnashing of teeth on the players part.
