I Reported this Game.
It is really ridiculous that its still on sale. Development stopped in 2017 and people are still paying for this to this day. Bad reviews don't work. If you agree, report this product on the home page on the flag icon

Yep, the devs gave up on it back then. Instead of fixing all the bugs I helped find at the time when they upgrading the Unity engine, they just ignored them and moved on to their next game, Arizona Sunshine. Pretty stupid on their part to leave their first game unfinished.
I remember you. You had excellent feedback on the rusticles on the wrecks and other positive feedback they never done anything with anymore. So far for beta-testing and community help!

game not under develppement anymore is not a reason to stop to sail it. it is far to be the only one in this case, and even if it was the case, i wouldn't see the problem...
sorry for my bad englishingleetering

You are doing very well! Never apologize for trying! And although you have a point, personally I think they are not right by selling a game which still promotes active development and promises of improvement. Thats just not right. If the description of the game changed then I'd be more understanding for it. But now its just a scam

Steam doesn't give a F. There's an indie game that was abandoned years and years ago, dev team doesn't even exist anymore. Yet, it's still a game that can be bought even though it's awful.

they need to issue refunds and delist this game already. as the devs are far to busy working on other things with our money.

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the compliment. Yeah, I helped them a LOT with finding bugs to squash, and they did for awhile; but after that one Unity Engine update in 2014, they just gave up and moved on. Bad business practice. Especially after taking money from certain players to build new areas that never happened.

they decided that they liked Arizona sunshine more so they took the money for this game and put it all into that.

I puchased the game today but the game doesn't start. I think the game server is offline.
I found a workaround to make the game working:
(1) Open Steam
(2) Disconnect your internet connection
(3) Open World of Diving
Play.
Btw. once you reconnect you internet connection the game will crash. Play offline. Single player works fine.

Not much point though. The game is unfinished and full of graphical bugs.

Cool story bro. Can you please provide a list and a bot for the many thousands of games that aren't in development anymore or do you expect us to sit here for years and report stuff for no reason?

Also can you please provide a list of all the better diving games? I mean, there's so many I've lost track and you appear to be really competent, so please go ahead.

Not sure what your agenda is - but maybe... you can put all that effort into developing a better game instead.

I just checked it on both AMD and Nvidia (latest drivers). Game works just fine and my progression is there.
It does start normally, loads everything normally, my encyclopedia is all saved as well.
Check your firewall / drivers etc. - seems your computer has an issue unrelated to the game.

This game is a scam sold for $20.
Unfinished and buggy game.
The idea was good but the greed is stronger.
Phaota Feb 10, 2023 @ 4:48am
It wasn't a scam while in development, but definitely turned into one once they decided to make it abandonware.
Madfish Feb 11, 2023 @ 12:30pm
Hey guys, just a small sanity check here to find out if we're from the same planet.
You may have overlooked my question but can you PLEASE list what better diving simulators we have that are more complete and polished?
I'm terribly confused why so many call this bad while there just is nothing better that I know of, even after the many years since release, or am I overlooking a super rare gem that does it better?

Also I'm not even a native english speaker but am I the only person understanding the definition of scam and having zero issues playing the game?
My progress is saved, my encyclopedia is all saved, steam cloud saves work, I can start and run the game just fine... and again, which game even does it better?

I mean yes, development halted, like with 90% of the games on steam. Not even Subnautica was ever finished or in a state that was promised when I backed it. And that made literally 10000x the money of WoD... if not more.
Phaota Feb 11, 2023 @ 3:36pm
"Subnautica" is 100% better in every way. Sure, it isn't as focused on "diving" as this title puts it, but you spend the majority of your time underwater in wild and weird environments that are fully polished and beautiful (also, I was an official playtester on it, and did the same thing unofficially for the WoD devs while it was in development, before they quit on the game to make "Arizona Sunshine VR" instead). Due to this issue, "Word of Diving" (or WoD) never got finished, so it is riddled with bugs, and the devs took players money that they were going to use for making new level areas that were never completed. BTW, "Subnautica" WAS completed and is still getting updates. WoD hasn't.
