No option for furigana?
This game was a nice surprise for me. I love reading stuff about Japan, and with this game I can practice japanese at the same time. But for it to be perfect there should be an option to activate furigana. I'm just a beginner at japanese, so most of the kanji I can't read. Or is there an option for furigana and I just couldn't find it?

As a simple test, try drawing 口 in reverse order. It doesn't work... like at all.

Simply drawing parts that look sort of right isn't going to work, and a beginner just really can't be expected to know stroke order all that well.
Let the beginners decide, will ya? Every time you say somebody can't be expected to something something, it hurts.
Right. Is that what it's not practical to search for kanji using radicals for a beginner?

Nope, not at all.

I submitted an email to MangaGamer via their support@mangagamer.com contact (unfortunately this was the only contact I could find). I did also make a fatal error by only spellchecking, and not grammar checking... embarrassing it may be, but I do believe that I got the crucial points across.

Furigana is always a good idea. Since learning hiragana is easier than learning kanji, furigana can be worth having to those whoever has the knowledge of hiragana, but has the little to no knowledge of kanji.

Looks like they're going to take both that, but also any other requests into consideration.
I do have faith in MangaGamer wanting to also polish the game in this regard, especially with how they have been wanting to improve Higurashi's translation before giving it an actual release. All I can say for now is show your support for furigana, and hope for the best :)

I'd love to have furigana but I doubt I'll be able to read them, unless they make the text larger to incorporate these.

They could implement an option for when you hover over a kanji it will show the corresponding furigana in a balloon. This solves the issue with space.

I'm pretty sure the current format won't allow that, but I don't mind being proven wrong.

There's this feature that many VN engines support, called ruby text.

Very nice. I hope this can happen soon so I can start reading into the first day.

Ah, no way man. I hear you but just take a couple weeks practicing and you can learn both Hiragana and Katakana very quickly. Get a cheap whiteboard off the internet and just write the syllabarys (<- spelling?) over and over and you will get it.

Yes! Hopefully this happens soon. I have been using the Japanese iOS app in the meantime to just write and find the Kanji I don't know yet.

Instead of Furigana, I wished the game had voices. But sadly they wanted to "save money" and "sell it cheap" so they didn't include that helpful content.

I agree, both would be really nice. I am trying to find a game like this with both, but haven't had any luck so far. Anyone have any suggestions for threads that might point me (us, I suppose) in the right direction?

There is only one game I know of. I think it was nekopara. Has both voice and double language. Still waiting on it to be delivered in the deluxe version since I decided to throw all money at such a good idea.
