Go! Go! Nippon! FAQ
Given the number of times this has been asked, I thought I would take a moment to compose a quick post about this.

I have only have the base game. Do I need both expansions to enjoy the full game?
The short answer is yes, but if you would like the full explanation, please read on!

The original game was released in 2011 and contained static sprites, a handful of locations, and a simple-looking user interface (or UI). While the game is fun in its own way, improvements could most certainly be made. Enter GGN2015!

The game was completely overhauled and now utilizes the EMote system, showcasing a more fluid and interactive experience with Makoto and Akira. Additionally, the amount of content was doubled from what could be found in the original game, including new CGs, alternate endings, and locations. You will need to purchase the 2015 expansion to enjoy these new features.

The original developer released a second expansion a year later, GGN2016, which expanded upon the world even further, adding several new locations and scenes with the girl of your choosing. In addition to GGN2015, you will also need to purchase the 2016 expansion to enjoy these new features.

With that said, with how the game was developed, you will need both DLC expansions in order to enjoy all of the content GGN has to offer. Each expansion piggybacks off of the existing DLC, so once you have both DLC packs purchased, the engine locates that DLC files and seamlessly integrates everything into the most recent build of the game, GGN2016.

I have the base game and only one of the expansions.
If you only own the GGN2015 DLC expansion, the content and locations found in the newest expansion, GGN2016, will not be accessible.

If you only own the base game + GGN2016, you will need to purchase GGN2015. GGN2016 utilizes the same engine and functionality found in GGN2015, which was not available when the original game was developed. If you attempt to run GGN2016 without the GGN2015 expansion, you will likely be presented with an error and it will only run the original game content.

Will there be another GGN expansion?
That seems to be the plan, yes! OVERDRIVE, the original developer, has stated on their Twitter that they are "developing a new work for domestic use, so the next version of Go Go Nippon is after 2018."
