Can't play; controls seem "stuck"

I try to play, but the game acts like the "up" and the "left" keys are ALWAYS held down. I can't even navigate the menus, because the stuck button phenominon is constant in every screen of the game. I managed to get to level 2, but the very first thing the character is supposed to grab, none of the buttons make him grab it. I've tried playing with keyboard/mouse, or XBox 360 controller, or Steam controller. None of them work. I've tried re-booting, re-installing, verifying install. I've even tried completely different PCs, and the game acts like this across all systems and controllers.

I haven't seen this problem posted in other forums, so I'm completely confused why I'm the only one having this issue. It looks like a great game. Sure hope someone can suggest a fix so I can play it.

Hmmm... I also purchased a few other games at the same time. Both Hyper Drive and Slice and Dice exhibit this same exact problem. You'd think maybe its a hardware problem, but I've tried all three games on different PCs, with different keyboards and mice, as well as XBox controller and Steam controller, and it's the same problem everywhere no matter what hardware I'm using. I've tried uninstall/reinstalls on all the machines, and they all continue to do this. This problem seems to only be happening to these three games that I purchased together. I'll have to do more testing, but I have over a hundred games from Steam, and ONLY these games listed above seem to exhibit this behavior. (I'll keep testing...) Something went wrong with that purchase... and it must be attached to my Steam account, because it carries over to any new machine I try to install to. Does anyone have a clue what's happening?
