Indie Edition, license terms ?
How are the license terms of this Indie Editon ? I see nothing in the description. That's the most important question, compared to other Engines.

I know all other versions of LE has you able to make any amount of games with no royalties. Each person in your dev team just needs their own copy.

Hey thanks for the answer, this is not unimportant.
Other engines have many restrictions.
Can I read that somewhere?
Smaxx 6. jan. 2014 kl. 12:03
Yep, should definitely be somewhere on the store front. After all I'd consider that a major selling point.

I'll mention it to the developer. He may have overlooked this.

No royalties, ever. Sorry that wasn't clear, I should definitely add it to the store page.

Hey thx for the answer.
The Engine looks great, good work ;-)

I updated the store page with unambiguous terms:
"Your games you make are yours. Yours to play, yours to sell, yours to give away, and do as you please. You will never be charged royalties for any game you make in Leadwerks."

Clear? :)

Yes, as clear as possible.

tbh, the first thing i did when i saw 'indie edition' is come to the forums about what that means. What other versions are there, what do they cost, whats the difference and when do they arrive on steam.
Leadwerks Software 6. jan. 2014 kl. 15:02
The standard edition is more expensive but includes C++ programming capability. That's important to some people, and for others it's not a big deal. Since we use a just-in-time compiler to make Lua execution fast, Lua alone is perfectly capable of making full games.

Is there an easy upgrade between the versions?
Leadwerks Software 6. jan. 2014 kl. 15:09
If that capability is built into Steam, I will enable it.

Construct 2 steam version is not upgradable where the version purchased from the Construct 2 website is. Both were sold for the same price so I feel the steam owners got a bad deal. Lets say the same happens with the leadwerks indie version on steam. Would Leadwerks provide an indie version that is upgradable from your website for indie steam owners?
Leadwerks Software 6. jan. 2014 kl. 16:07
I don't have any problem with that, if I can determine who owns it on Steam.

If it's any help, SONAR X3, a DAW, allows you to upgrade to SONAR X3 Studio or SONAR X3 Producer if you already own SONAR X3, so upgrading indeed is possible for applications.
