Game Freezing When Fast Traveling/Opening Menu/Beginning Dialogue/Starting Cutscene
My game keeps freezing whenever the game transitions. Seems random and I have no consistent way to reproduce the freeze, it just happens when completing quests or attempting to talk to NPCs. Sometimes just opening the pause menu or the world map will cause it to freeze. The game was causing my entire system to hang, but removing two cores from the game allows me to just end the task in task manager instead of forcing a hard reboot.

PC Specs:
Ryzen 5 5600X
32GB DDR4 XMP On
RTX 3070Ti
in-game resolution: 2560x1440

Troubleshooting steps tried:
Ensured all drivers are up to date
Verified game files
Removed game shaders and system cached shaders.
Lowered graphics settings
Quit iCUE software for my Corsair peripherals
Switched from DLSS to FSR
Used SFC and DISM to check my Windows install for issues

Performance for me outside of crashing seems normal. It's a 3070Ti so wasn't expecting super great performance, but the default settings went to ultra and with DLSS on I get 60-80 FPS most of the time and drops to 35 FPS in populated/dense areas. Not the best, but satisfactory for the hardware in my computer.

Not really sure what else to do. There's only one other game that has this same problem for me and it's POE2. The same total freeze/hang issues happens on that game also, but no others. I tried a more recent title that I knew would push my hardware just as much (STALKER 2), but that game hasn't frozen or caused my system to just hang like this game and POE2. Any suggestions/ideas/help would be appreciated.

I'm enjoying this game and want to continue playing, but it's just unplayable for me at the moment since it crashes constantly.

I have same problem
Ryzen 5 5600
RTX 2060
16 GB DDR4

My friend think that problem is that game can't work with 6 cores CPU since PS5 have 8 cores CPU

And developers just don't get how to fix it.

I play 20+ hr try fix it. But it's not work. Really want refund because I gave up and only what I want is fix

If we found someone who have 8 CPU and game still crash then his theory broken. But I still think same

Since when I start play I use 1600 game freeze. I upgrade my CPU to 5600 game still freeze. Both 6 CPU

This may be true, a friend of mine is also playing this game, but he has a Ryzen 7, which should have 8 real cores. His doesn't seem to freeze, but he's also running a 3080Ti, which has 12 GB VRAM. I wonder if we're hitting core and VRAM limits? I noticed during the freezes, the GPU usage drops to about 5% and CPU gets pinned to 100% which is when my system hangs.:p3p_idea:

I suppose that problem with GPU. Since it's require 8 GB VRAM. I want try buy 4060 next week and check if it work or not.

Otherwise I want ask do you turn on TPM? Some people say it's the problem why game freeze

I do have TPM enabled. I'll try it with TPM disabled, but I wouldn't think that's it.
Yeah it is a CPU issue. I have a 4070 super and the same exact CPU as you. I cannot play longer than 40 mins without it freezing. Tried every solution out there and nothing works.

A workaround I have been using recently is to take way two cores from the game through Task Manager. I leave CPU0 and CPU1 free so the OS can still function without a total freeze.
