Another bad performance
People who is happy with it arrn't even noting the game is by default dynamic resolution and upscaling. I have a very good PC and with both off my PC runs it 40fps. Normally I play with more than 100fps. I was playing star wars jedi survivor with fps locked to 100.

Buth fanboys are comming...

I do know, 8gb is a joke for 1440p even with dlss on

Sure! For less than 1% of games available on PC. Again, you don't know what you're talking about.

This game requires at least 8GB vram on the lowest settings. Going for 1440p with 8GB will cause issues. especially when you enable framegen which increases vram usage.

I run this game fine on a Legion 5 with an Nvidia 1060ti. Download the first two mods in the nexus store under most popular, and if you have an nvidia card, up the resolution sharpening in the control panel. It made the game run like a dream.

Could you be more specific which mods you mean please? I don't see a 'most popular' option, under Mods there is a Trending option, you mean that one? If I choose that I see mods for Skyrim at the top. And searching for final fantasy 16 only gives one mod that replaces an OST.

The problem I have is that, seemingly indepent if I use 4K or a lower res, everything runs perfectly smooth when I start (on a I9 9900 + 2080S), but after a while the stuttering and slowmotion effect starts and gets worse overtime. Restarting the game fixes this again for a while.

Story and other - over GREAT! But...
Most worst optimization if I ever seen. The graphics looks like:"Hello 2015". And all this "♥♥♥♥" has such bad performence, and even without RTX. Just...wow...

My 4090 « hides » most optimization issue but FFXVI was already a shame on PS5 and considering how it looks (kinda ugly…at least far worse than top AAA which have also RT) it should run better.

I mean the comparison of the PS5 version being 1080p/ 60 and it recommending a 2080 just for that is actually very accurate tho... And it still looks miles better than what the PS5 version was even on those specs. The game does a lot of very demanding visual things that others don't do so yea :>
I have a 2080 and the game chugs to 20-30 on low with DLSS on all the time. It's poorly optimized

Too little details.
Like you didn’t mention resolution and your cpu.

Any res. CPU is a 3700x.

People complaining about poor optimization and I have not even encountered any of the issues that others have encountered.

7800 XT, 5900X, all settings max using native AA 1440p and even I have not seen frames drop below 100 during normal game play.

The locked 30 fps during cutscenes is annoying though I was hoping the port would change that, you shouldn't have to use mods for that.

Disabling boost mode in power settings will fix stuttering and fps issues, it's a temporary fix until the devs release an optimization patch

Definitely not a rush job. It's made by a team with a lot of experience for PC. That said, it should run better. However, you are right about it being built around PS5. It was very much built around having a super fast nvme ssd. So, it really struggles on normal SSDs.

I have a 7900XTX, 32gb ram, nvme ssd and it runs great for me, but only with dynamic resolution and using XESS upscaling. Native 4k is a no go for me. I do hope they can get it to run a little better for others, though. But this really isn't a bad PC port. According to Digital Foundry, there are some strange issues that occur after cutscenes, an on lower end systems, but they were overall positive about it.

1080p on a 4070ti running about 90-150fps maxed out and 200+ on frame generation. Many people’s issue happen to be with the shader file, I posted a fix for it in a review and in a post I made a couple days ago.
