Bugged performance (solved)
Update 2:
As suggested by someone in another thread, moving the game from an m2 drive to a sata one ended up resolving the artifacting issue. As of now, it seems like all my problems with the game are resolved. Good stuff.
All that remains is occasional stuttering in cutscenes, but those are stuck in the 30fps realm anyway.

Update 2:
Idk what this game's been doing to my system, but I've had some developments lol

Basically, when Black Myth Wukong dropped, I took a look at the in game benchmark, only to find significantly lower results that what I saw in the separate benchmark tool released a few days ago. So I booted up the Benchmark, and found lower performance there too, alongside other games. So I decided to reinstall drivers again and do another system reboot. And voila, now I'm actually getting framerates I'd expect, similar to this post

I have 64GB of RAM but that won't make a difference here lol in the castle it was fluctuating between 65-80fps and in the swamp I'm getting 60-70fps.

Now, I wish I could say all is well, but that's not exactly the case. On the flipside, the visual artifacts I mentioned in the op have gotten MUCH crazier. I made some quick videos demonstrating them, it's a trip lol

Alright, I'm pretty sure this isn't supposed to look like this, considering others' performance reports looking way better. Specs -
4090
7800x3d
32gb@6000

No matter the settings, gpu usage is sitting at a cool 99%, while cpu hovers around 16-20%. Needless to say, frames are all out of whack, menu sits at 40ish, cutscenes are all over the place, first controllable section basically doesn't go above 50, changing settings has no effect, runs basically the same on native as it does on dlss performance. The combat tutorial in Rosalith somehow went down to like 20.

On top of that, the visuals sometimes randomly freak out as the screen goes black with only some lights flickering around. As if the shaders had an aneurysm.

So yeah, I'd wager there's some sort of bug at work here, open to suggestions

Cutscenes lock frame rate to 30 (and introduce some weird stutter), it feels really jarring. Current generation cards also can't handle this at 4K, heavy use of DLSS is required.

Heavy use of DLSS does next to nothing, Performance runs the same as Balanced, which runs the same as Quality, which runs the same as native. Frame Gen kind of pushes it up to the 60s, but you'd never tell without an fps display due to the sheer amount of stutter.
Pretty sure a 4090 should be able to run this at 1080p at least lol
Reinstalling rn just for good measure

There's a ton and I mean a ton of cutscenes, they're rendered live in-engine (not FMVs), these will lower fps to 30 and I feel it hitches during those particularly bad. Playing on a LG G3 OLED at 120 Hz, really feels horrible here.

FPS is all over the place to the point I only got it to stabilize on performance, seems my rig is not gonna handle this game on ultra settings - and it's a really high spec system as well.

The only thing my PC doesn't have that's strictly in the exotic tier is the GPU, but it's still a ROG Strix 4080... It's a 13900KS with 7600 RAM on a ROG Apex Encore, so like, brutal performance everywhere you look, with a GPU that might be no 4090 but it's also the closest thing to that

I don't think it's just bad optimization, something's just straight up bugged here with the gpu/cpu utilization, it shouldn't be anywhere near this skewed. There's also the shader aneurysm I mentioned, almost certainly related.
I'm not just talking cutscenes, I played the game on PS5, I know what the intro looks like. Something's bricked on the back end it seems

Haven't seen any shaders going off, but ugh, the performance is nauseating, it really runs poorly on my machine. Haven't played on PS5, strictly a PC guy myself so I couldn't compare

" open to suggestions"

just look at the label of company who "optimize" this game, just some randoms get paid and now you got fsr 3 and dlss 3 not even working properly

HOW THEY DOING THIS UNREAL ENGINE 4-5 how this people ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up so bad

any dude from nexus mods can do better than that!

I feel like the settings are not working properly. My 7900xt gets no real difference in FPS between low and high settings. Only way I see a difference is if I swicth from FSR3 to FSR1 wherein FSR1 gets me a bit more FPS. Frame Gen becomes a tear fes like VRR isn't working.

It almost doubles my framerate up to 100. Cant get 60 fps without it.

I found the issue and the fix for my Intel i7 13700 CPU.
It has 8 P Cores (16 P threds) and 8 E Cores
(I also have it updated whit the microcode fix)
Disabling E-Cores in the bios has fixed all of the games issues for me.
When E-Cores ware enabled the game would only use 2 of my Systems cores when running.
When i disabled all 8 of my E cores now the game uses all 8 of my P-Cores.
I also keep hyper-threading disabled.

Not sure what the Equivalent of this for AMD CPUS.
Perhaps try disabling Hyperthreding and limit your Cores to 8.

Outside of 30 fps cutscenes , I'm watching my 3090ti hitting 99%, and cpu sitting at only 20% with frames locked to 60. Yet I'm still getting frame drops, so this is going on waiting a few patches before purchasing list .

Getting 100 FPS on my 7800X3D and 4080S after the Combat Tutorial at 1080p/DLAA/Ultra. So something is clearly wrong on your end.

You realize the PS5 ran this sub 1080p and below 60 FPS in towns right ? Which is basically a 2080 at best. So no wonder if you guys use your 1440p/4k Monitors the game is demanding...

1080p is easy peasy. You have a 4K-capable system.
