I am just appalled (but not wholly surprised given Square Enix's track record) that Final Fantasy XVI is going to have Denuvo. Everyone is complaining already about the poor performance even with poweful hardware, which is undoubtedly due to this absurd DRM like many other games in the past have proven.

I have waited years for FF XII The Zodiac Age to have Denuvo removed, I shall wait for this as well. But I won't buy it one moment before Denuvo goes away.

It's almost as if developers are entitled to protect their creation from tampering.
Which is what Denuvo is, not the bonkers claims weird conspiracy theorists claim it is. It's just anti-tampering.

Please educate yourself on the matter before saying "it's just anti-tampering" as if it were fresh water on your face. Every added computation done by your system isn't "free", it uses resources that would otherwise be used by your main task -- the game, in our case.

But more than my words, let the numbers talk so that this is settled.

On top of this, the game requires periodic online reactivation despite it being a purely singleplayer game; you change ONE thing in your system, the reactivation has to be done immediately since Denuvo makes a "fingerprint" of your whole computer depending on your HW and SW installed. If the authentrication server ever goes down or is otherwise unavailable, the game won't be playable by anyone who purchased it... but it will be for those who sails the high seas.

This is in a nutshell why Denuvo is insufferable.

I was 99,99% sure that Denuvo would be here from the get-go of course. It still sucks that they actually used it once more.

they believe what denuvo gonna save they sales

but ff 7 rebirth fan base and ps5 only exclusivity not save them from a disaster (game sells poorly)

Denuvo used to have different contracts in the past where they would not charge extra for the continued presence of the DRM. Now they do and this is why most devs/publishers remove it after typically 6 months, but exceptions exist.
