You sure don't remember the PS3.

It looks like FF14 with a reshade preset thrown on top.

It's already 170gb

Square enix needs to fix the terrible graphics and other big performance issues, otherwise it's going to significantly hurt the sales.

I would say it looks like a ps4 game from 2015 ps3 is too harsh though I see where you are coming from. I feel like something is wrong because it looked better in videos of the ps5 version.

Sadly texture packs aren't common anymore

I always love this complete hyperbole.
Either that or you never played on a PS3.
I am waiting for the first post that compares this game to a Super Nintendo game.

It's pretty bad, actually. Also, some cutscenes are locked at 30fps?

Sigh..

ALL cutscenes are locked to 30 FPS, was the same on PS5 even in 60 FPS performance mode.
Thats because like half the cutscenes are really FMV recorded at 30 FPS and the rest are realtime but to not feel stutters when they play right into each other they locked all cutscenes to 30 FPS.

The texture resolution isn't the issue, it's that they're using a virtual texturing system (which is fine and expected in of itself for any game of this size).

So what you're seeing is the lower quality base textures on the atlas that were able to get streamed in faster versus the higher quality ones that you either didn't get streamed in time for draw, or those same lower quality base textures because you ran out of VRAM.

I will say their system is acting a bit goofy for reasons I can't quite ascertain yet, digging into it though.

I lol'd hard on this one. And then cried shortly after...

I wouldn't say PS3 but the game does look kinda meh in the graphics department. Very much reminds me of FF14.

PS3!? My gameboy advanced had cleaner graphics, its like walking outside without my glasses on
SkacikPL Aug 19, 2024 @ 12:32pm
Yeah i hope it does because as it is, it literally struggles to compete visually against XV which was a PS4 title in essence.

Yeah XV was a nice showcase, XVI looks like a step backwards.

Textures are bound to internal resolution. Run it at native 4K dude
