Low FPS on MSI Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 12GB Ventus2x
As the title suggest I'm currently unable to play the demo for no real reason. Currently running around 15-22 fps no matter in which graphic settings the game is, either low or high.

I have tried to update my graphic drivers to the latest and still no issue resolution.

My current setup is:

MSI Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ventus2x
Ryzen 5 5600X
32GB RAM
KINGSTONE SA400S37480G SSD 1T
1920x1080

I know my current processor it's causing a bottleneck to my graphic card, but it shouldn't be that much for this game to run so badly.

I'm able to run black myth wukong on stable 60fps on ultra without any staggering problem.

Any ideas on what to do?

DENUVO again.
get ready for 35FPS + overheating.

try deleting shader cache in C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XVI DEMO

the game will recompile shaders and hopefully performance improves

if that still doesnt work then your ssd is maybe too slow. this is a directstorage game based on ps5 title. you need fast modern nvme drive.

It can't be, you're doing something wrong.
I have Ryzen 5 5600, RTX 4060Ti, 16Gb ram and I play it with everything maxed out at 1920x1080 at a solid 60fps (V sync on).

That's weird. I have a 5800H CPU that's monolithic and only has half of the L3 cache yet I'm getting way more fps than you are. Definitely something going on with your system.

10 year old PC with upgrades only to the GPU (4070) and I had small frame drops for like 2 seconds when starting and everything works fine.

There is no way you are having a good time with such a massive bottleneck.

Literally played it an hour ago, steady 120 FPS. Granted the only thing I will say is that I have 24 gigs of RAM, but its literally a 10 year old PC that I made in 10th grade, and the only thing I ever do to it is buy a new GPU which is like every 2nd generation. works fine for me. Not to mention all my settings are on ULTRA

Is your operating system on the same drive as the game install? That could cause a performance drop.

Definitely a bug, the demo runs fine without SSD even

Same GPU as you. Frame Gen On, DLSS Quality, everything Maxed, 2k Resolution and getting around 90+ fps. I have an i5 13600KF though.

Do you have any integrated GPU by any chance? Maybe it's running on that, or some app is running in the background consuming your VRAM and causing FPS drops.

Funny, I have a 2070, and can run the game at max settings with a solid 60FPS :steamfacepalm:

I figured this could be the issue

I did tried that and didn't help at all, I have that SSD assign exclusive to Steam and still has up to 500mb/s on reading.

I know it could be better but shouldn't be the problem, any other AAA game runs perfectly, Elden Ring, Wukong, God of War, The last of us, Horizon. All of them on ultra and no problems so far

I'm on a 5600x too, with a 3080 12GB, and 32GB of RAM. At 1440p I have no issue at all at max settings with DLSS (quality).

I don't know what you're doing wrong honestly. Maybe mesure your temps (cpu and gpu), frequencies, and usage while playing and come back.

If you're on Windows 11 or less but have fTPM enabled anyway, are your bios and Windows up-to-date by the way ? There are known issues on amd when using fTPM or Windows 11 if you're not up-to-date.

I can assure you I'm not doing anything wrong on my side, just installing the game as any other, changing the graphics settings to attempt to make it work and still having a terrible performance.
