Steam vs PS5

Is the PC version basically the graphics mode fidelity of PS5 but at 60 FPS? Or even better? That may justify buying it again just to play it on max settings on PC. Thanks, guys.

You will need a relatively strong pc. It depends on your expectations, and also seems to depend a bit on luck. I had no problem playing through the game yet there are also a lot of complaints that I see. Whether thats user error or some common software or hardware conflict or possibly a combination of the two, I really cannot say.

But anyway.... the game is very vram hungry, so while some people have gotten away with 8gb vram cards, many many have issues with them. I would say you want 12, preferably 16 to be safe from stuttering. Then again you may be just fine with 8. Or you may have trouble even with a 4090. I've seen it all.

But for me, it was a great experience with breathtaking graphics and good performance. The vram was very high, so high at first I thought there might have been a leak but further investigation revealed no leak... it just uses a lot of damn vram.

Also, pcie bandwidth is important too. You don't need 4x16, but at least 3x16 or 4x8 really is advisable. And please don't put your gpu in a slot that goes through the chipset! (yes... seen that here too....)

I have a rtx 4080 aorus extreme so im good on the specs. And a 7800x3d with 32 gb ddr5 ram at 6000mhz. So it'll handle the game fine. I've just seen some complaints that don't seem too..valid lol. I appreciate the feedback

FWIW, I played it at 1440p with 60+ FPS on a 3060...

But yes, I'd recommend PC over console any day.

Lol, no, the PC version is mother effin' LEAGUES above the fidelity of the PS5 and at 100+ fps if you have the rig to support it.

yeah, I kind of figured. I saw a lot of hate on stuttering with Silent Hill 2 and bought it anyways - game runs amazingly well, with a COUPLE frame drops between new areas but the fidelity was even better than graphics mode on PS5 for that game, too.
