Possible fix for constant freeze/crashing
Hi everyone

I had crashes initially every few hours and random ♥♥♥♥♥♥ performance (60 fps to 8-20 fps after any travelling) on my 3070 + ryzen 5600X.

TLDR Fix: Uninstall Microsoft Gameinput from installed apps and restart. Turn off steam input.

And as I progressed the game it became much more frequent with last few days me having crashes every 30 minutes, mostly during some eikon cutscene or while traveling through the map.

The crash/freeze basically completely freezes my pc and I need to force shutdown using the power button or wait for 10 mins or so to either get an error message or system to auto restart.

I checked windows event viewer and I would always have the following during crashes: "The GameInput Service service terminated unexpectedly."

I googled this and found the following: https://www.reddit.com/r/WindowsHelp/comments/18bb6e0/comment/kcw2mem/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

On some more searching I found there are maybe redundant entries of Microsoft Gameinput after updating windows, which might be the reason that clean install of windows fixes some peoples problems. I also mostly had crashes when there was vibration on my controller (during cutscenes/ after travelling/ after battle result screen)

I also disabled steam input (not sure if it changes anything) since I use an xbox controller.

Results: Controller vibration is much better now (probably due to disabling steam controller) and I dont get mini freezes when travelling anymore. I also did not crash for over 2 hrs (It did crash on opening the main menu but I was able to play more than 2 hrs and it has stopped crashing on travelling)
