FINAL FANTASY XVI

View Stats:
i5-12400F, RTX 4060 (8 GB VRAM), 16 GB RAM, 1080p, will I be ok? What about Lostwing and Hideout?
The game is running smoothly for me with this setup with all settings on High, and getting around 80-120ish fps at 1080p. I have DLSS Super Resolution and Framegen, Dynamic Resolution, Reflex and VRS on though.

Only issues I notice are characters having blurry glow around their hair, more noticeable on Jill, or Murdoch's hair looks like it's on fire during the tutorial. And a blurry smudgy outline effect around characters sometimes in cutscenes. But everything else looks great to me.

But I don't mind that if it gives good game performance...I want at least consistent 60 fps with the best graphics possible without straining my system.

I read about lag and FPS issues once you get to a town called Lostwing....and a Hideout. Do you think I will run into those issues with my setup? I heard it likes to eat VRAM...so maybe just take a break every couple hours and restart? I am nervous about performance issues when I get later into the game...

Please help, thanks. Also, if there's any settings I can change for nicer quality and performance, let me know as well.

I had no problems on a 3060 paired with a 3600, so you should be fine.

You're seeing those blurry things because the game render post processing effects by using the base resolution not the upscale one, for example when running the game at 1080p + DLSS quality, it will render those effects at 720p.
To disable them use this mod:

Thanks for the help everyone, I have set up FFXVIFix.

I have an Acer XF243Y Pbmiiprx monitor that runs at 165 FPS and can do Freesync. But I disabled Freesync and set it to 60 FPS, and only have VSync set to On in NVIDIA Control Panel. Just want a stable 60 FPS that doesn't fluctuate, and without working my system harder for extra FPS, just to be safe.

Everyone's hair looks great, sharp and clear strands. The 60 FPS scenes look very nice, everything feels immersive. Does anyone have a save file at Lostwing or the hideout that I can test with?

Here is my settings, please let me know if everything's good.

In-game settings:
Screen Mode - Borderless

Graphics Presets - Custom
Super Resolution - NVIDIA DLSS 3
Dynamic Resolution - On
DLSS Frame Generation - On

hey dude, did you managed to get the game running? I just got it and when the game finish at the shader compilation, crashes completely and kicks me outta the game, and when I do manage to get to the title screen, when I try the new game it closes. I have almost the same cpu as you and the same graphic card. any ideas?

Sorry it isn't working well for you although you have a similar setup.

I mainly just used the FFXVIFix.ini to help with performance and graphics. I used this guide by Oxford King on Youtube for how to set it up. Do every step exactly as he says, and also read his pinned comment (especially if you have 40 series GPU) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGj205OHxgY

Let me know if it helps any.

My 4080 Laptop, with 12 GB of VRAM, could not run 4k no matter the setting. I changed to 1440p maxed out everything and it runs great.

Also, it runs great maxed out on my 4090, obviously. But it does take 22GB of VRAM to do so.

Oh wow!
22 GB VRAM? Talk about terrible optimization!
The game does not even look all that great.

Jesus, the developers are really lazy nowadays, expecting us to constantly fork out money in order to play the latest games.
