When do I actually get to the game?
Steam tells me I've been playing the demo 54 mins. And apart from a brief interlude with a short bit of fighting training, and some short walking, it's all been cut scenes.

I assume it actually turns into a game rather than a movie at some point?

you dont even own the game.
He literally said his experience has been in the demo. which itself is pretty lengthy.

Octopath traveller has dialogue that doesn't stretch on for ages. areas can be explored, and theres areas you can grind for levels and it's not pointless. FF9 is the same. FF7 is the same. you can return to past areas for hidden loot, dialogue, fights, etc. FF10 is the same, they don't all bog you down with endless cutscenes and then 3 fights. FF12 was an excellent game imo. tons of gameplay, optional areas, hidden gear and bosses. and fights that actually took skill.

I realise I am wasting my time here trying to talk reason into the horde of white knights in here and I don't know why I even bothering. I never said I hated the game, or that it bored me specifically, or that it was bad. But the fact you all are so up in arms towards me, insulting me, treating me like I am stupid, because of one gripe I had with it. this only shows me you all are no better than the genshin community because you all are showing the same exact behavior. and thats a bar you do not want to sink to.

I just disagree with this entirely, tbh. I've played tons of JRPGs and they all have very long stretches of story without gameplay, it's one of the core aspects of the genre. The opener here is maybe a little long but once you get through the intro it's roughly the same balance as any other JRPG I'd say.

I see we do a little trolling out here. Fair enough.

the game opens up later with big areas but yes, most stuff is voiced and has cutscenes, even sidequests, so yea. if you´re not hunting nutorious marks or so are ya mostlikely to 50% of the time in a cutscene xD.

should be the answer to the thread right here. was able to answer truthfully and didn't lose his mind at the question.
