FINAL FANTASY XVI

What performance are others getting on RTX 3060/ RX 6600/6650XT?
Hey, the performance I am getting in this game is extremely inconsistent and really frustrating. I've just about tried anything to get it to at least go to 60 at 1080p and even at 720p but it's not really able to do so.

I have a Ryzen 5 5600 - 16gb od 3200MHZ DDR4 ram and a 6650XT.

Im just about tearing my hair out, I scrambled all of my cash last year to get this PC just for this game, I really couldn't afford more where I am.

One thing I noticed but can't for the life of me understand is my fps goes down by 20-30 every single time I'm on the local map screen. I honestly have no clue why just 'veil' screen can tank my fps.
RTX 3060 12GB, I got about 20-30FPS and now that I've reached Lostwing it's sub 20FPS.

Even at 1080p low with DLSS on performance...

Did you try playing with the graphical settings though ? Not just enabling DLSS but seeing what setting are reducing your performance so hard ? Set it all to low, check your fps. Then enable one setting to medium, check fps, then the next setting etc. Untill you hit that fps drop.

Yeah I've played around with the graphics settings, but they didn't really change much. Only thing that brought more FPS was enabling FSR3+FG but then the input felt weird.

And what else should I deactivate/set lower besides resolution when even on low it's only 20-30 FPS (or even lower). Activating DLSS brought a small performance boost of 5FPS in most situations.

I'd just keep FG enabled if i were you though, and deal with the inputlag. It should def give you the biggest boost in performance. I checked a video for this game running your GPu and it seemed to have "ok" performance with this enabled.

Go to the 5 minute mark where hes using FSR + Framegen - 1080p with a mix of high - medium settings.

Thanks I know that video. But the problem still stands, that I'm no where near that performance with or without FG.

Without FG they get over 40FPS in 1080 high, where I get 20-30FPS on 1080low or mid.

If I had FPS anywhere near what they have in that video I would not be on here.

Game is a bit weird. Here is what I have gotten so far with these settings.
Game upscaled to 4k with enhanced 80% sharpness on adrenaline - played on 720p resolution (looks better than native 1080p without upscaling and better performance on my samsung 4k TV)
Everything maxed ( no matter what changes I made, the performance stays the same)
FSR 3 native and FG on: stable 60 fps with crystal clear image quality
FSR 3 Quality and FG on: fps dips down to 20-40 fps and image quality is blurry
FSR 3 Balance and FG on: same with quality
FSR 3 Performance and FG on: same with quality
FSR 3 Ultra Performance and FG on: same with quality
My specs: gpu - rx 7600, cpu- r5 5600, ram- 32gb
What's the lag you are getting with native + FG?
The game plays fine with stable 60 fps even with all the effects during eikon battles. The only problem with this is i will start to micro stutter on some cutscenes and affect the gameplay as well that's why I have to restart the game but found a fix now.
I just increased my virtual memory and apply the fix mod and cpu priority and ssd mod from nexusmod website.
I’m using a 3090 and game for me runs great.

Very laggy for me in the open world with an RTX 2080 Super, I7-10700K with 16 GB RAM.

In case you guys didn't know, there's a bug that tanks your FPS once you switch Eikons which is most likely causing most of the performance dips. Frame gen barely helps once this bug starts.

Posting this link for more awareness: https://www.reddit.com/r/FFXVI/comments/1fkimer/bug_are_you_noticing_your_fps_suddenly_tank_out/

This is a thing for some people but not for everyone. For example I don't tend to see dips THAT crushingly low, but the dips I do have are there from the start regardless if I switch eikons or not, and I never see a massive fall off when switching eikons. I'm not sure what's happening to them— mutliple people have been able to showcase this issue so there's something going on— but many others like myself aren't experiencing it.
I'm also not seeing an FPS drop from switching eikons but simple cutscenes slaughter my FPS and towns also slaughter it. Maybe a CPU thing for me but the 5600 should be able to handle it.

I have a 4090 in my Desktop and everything runs great on it. When I tried the game on my laptop (3060) I had several issues at first. I kept tinkering with the settings and ended up with 70 - 120 fps all the way through the Garuda fight. I set the game from borderless to fullscreen at 1080p. Then I put everything on low, turned off Vsync, and use FSR3 with frame gen. The biggest game changer for me was also enabling Reflex+Boost. all theses settings on then rebooting the game really improved things on my laptop. Give it a try if you can and see if it helps. Sorry you are having issues.
I don't like to use framegen because it is essentially fake. Sure for cutscenes it does work fine but any gameplay segments playing at 60fps while having 40-50fps latency feels absolutely awful.

And honestly, if you have isssues with a 4090 you should talk to a lawyer to sue square, for that money I could live comfortably in my country for like 6 months without working. I am in the 3rd world :/.
I think you may have misunderstood my post. I don't have any issues with my 4090 setup. It was just the 3060 laptop. Try using the reflex +boost setting, or the amd equivalent from their app. It allows frames to come out the moment they are rendered and reduces the CPU load in most cases. It improved things quite a bit for me.

Windows 11 Pro - FFXVI Fix
RTX 3060 12GB - 5600X - 32GB RAM - SSD NVMe
All settings to Ultra except Shadows on Low
Getting 70-80+ fps everytime with AMD FSR 3 AA Native + Frame Generation
In cutscenes getting 55-60+ fps everytime
No stutterings, just all clean and flawless
almost the same configuration as mine, what changes is my Ryzen 5 5600G. but it only stays at 50% usage, so I don't think it has that much of an impact... but I can't get the performance you have! bizarre..

I have R5600 and RTX 3060 and 40-45 is the standard FPS I'm getting on the lowest setting with dynamic resolution and DLSS

I refuse to use FSR3 FG because it still feels stuttery and adds a lot of input latency

There are some areas that I will lrrach butter smooth 60fps but in fights I will be lucky if I get 50

There is something weird with the game because my card stays at 60C while if I boot up other demanding games I go to 70-75C, it doesn't make any sense
yo, we have the same configs. I managed to make a configuration that was very pleasant using FSR and without input lag. I managed to run at at least 70 fps.
stop using fsr frame gen. it only puts unnecessary load on the poor 6600 series cards with no real benefit. that fake high fps means nothing if it feels like ♥♥♥♥ to play and artifacting all over the place. just stick to FSR and low-med settings.

devs just favor nvidia because 80% of the userbase is on Nvidia lol, expect crashes AND fps issues on AMD cards. its just a given at this point.

Kind of hilarious that even FSR appears to work better on Nvidia than AMD lol I get barely any artifacting and no noticeable input issues on my 3070 (laptop) with high settings
My system - Ryzen 5 7600, 32GB RAM 6000MHz, RX 6650XT. Playing on 1080p, locked at 60fps in settings. AMD driver version 24.20.11.01 (Recommended in the pinned discussion post by devs).

Game has been running consistently at 60fps during normal gameplay - Apart when at the Hideaway where it fluctuates between 30/40/50/60fps.

Watching the Metrics tab on Adrenaline, it is showing mostly 60fps and GPU does seem to push 99% during graphic intensive parts of the game. I am using the FFXVIFix mod to unlock the cutscenes which has mostly been working consistently.

Parts where FPS has dropped for me has been the fafnir fight where it starts rolling round the room, but didn't make it unplayable (for me). The Garuda fight was quite choppy which made the fight harder (Fluctuating 30-40fps from 60fps), I suspect due to the battle "environment" - Funnily enough the fps picked up right as the fight was finishing up and the cutscene started playing. Can't comment any further as that's as far as I've gotten in the game at time of posting.

In-Game Settings:
- Super Res AMD FRS3
- Dynamic Res on
- AMD FRS Frame Gen on
- Frame rate locked at 59.94FPS
- Chromatic Ab - on
- VRS on

Screen space reflection/Ambient Occ/Bloom Shader - All set to off

- All graphics set to medium apart from Shadows and Clutter which is set to low.

Might not be as pretty as I want it to be.. But working for me atm.

Sorry for the long post but hope that helps you, good luck!
