Frame generation slow motion during combat?
Anyone experience slow motion when using FG during combat? And if so is there a fix ?

because physics are tied to framerate and when framerate dips so does the speed at which game performs. Interpolated frames are not applied to physics calculation.

Unity games had an issue that when you enabled vsync framegen was making the game run at half speed. maybe vsync/enhanced sync/adaptive sync/fast sync or vrr is interacting with FFXVI in a similar way. At worst you can use dlss enabler mod to decouple the fg from fsr or choose between fg 3.0 and 3.1 algorithm.

I have exactly the same issue on my rog ally X , with fsr3 FG on 1080p , most of the game runs at a good 50fps , but during combats my moves are in slow mo it's so painful. Only option I found is to step down to 900p and FSR set to balance and not quality

If your fps goes below 40 it will be slow, just set upscaler resolution to anything and put it back to your original, it fixes it for that fight, though weirdly enough I locked fps to 30 on the deck and it doesn't seem to be happening anymore this far in the game

Hear me out. Assuming you're using a Razer device, enable the FFXVI app in Chroma and restart your game.

I'm not sure it's something you can control on that device. But essentially, there is a bug where the game tries to send lighting effects to keyboard/mice like Chroma-enabled Razer devices, and when it's unable to communicate with Razer Synapse to perform this function, the game goes haywire and drops frames instantly and can cause combat to run in slow-motion. The solution is to make sure the FFXVI app is enabled within Synapse. Even players without Razer devices are now claiming that installing Synapse fixes their issue.

Here's a Reddit thread about it:
