Win+D just shows the desktop though.
If you run GPU-Z in the background or open the overlay of your GPU drivers while playing, then you can see if you are running out of VRAM. That would honestly be a problem that needs to be patched by SE. Lowering graphics settings could work as a temporary fix though.
It is actually an excellent port. Only a few people are having problems. The forum would be a warzone otherwise.

There are still some hiccups. SE will work them out eventually.
I've been monitoring my 4090 VRAM and it's only at like 50% usage before and after it happens. GPU usage drops from near max to under 40%.
Please join in reporting this issue if you're having the fps drop + slow mo bug a few min after switching Eikons.
The remake of Front mission 2 too is still plagued with bug !
finally was just happy with my settings/performance and then suddenly frames started dropping and was wondering why. This seems legit.
So gotta stop playing thil its fixed it seems... FFS was rly loving the game...
I had indeed disabled the connection a couple hours into the game because I was annoyed that only 1/3 of my keyboard had static lighting when enabled. My speculation is that the bug is triggered when FFXVI is unable to communicate with Razer, and everything goes haywire after that
