Game crashing after Typhon fight
So I've done the Typhon fight 3x now, and every time when the fight ends and Joshua shows up, the came crashes when Joshua walks up to Ultima. Every time. And because the game doesn't autosave between the Typhon fights and the cutscene after, I keep having to redo it. So apparently I'm stuck

Same problem. What GPU do you have? I have an AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT.

AMD 6700XT. I ended up having to fast-forward the cutscene, which like...yeah I'm glad I could get past that point, but I obviously missed an important scene

Same here. The moment he extends his hand its over. Apperently there should be fix comming up, but who knows, don't want to skip it. AMD 6800 XT

I also have a 6800XT it makes it to the same point where it crashses as soon as Joshua extends his hand then it says the GPU will not respond to more commands

Here's the fix you've all been waiting for!
Step 1: Skip the cutscene
Step 2: Watch it on YT (Incase the timestamp doesn't work skip to 1:03:43)

Jokes aside I am guessing it's an AMD driver problem.

Download the AMD beta driver. It apparently fixes some crashing issues.

Intermittent driver timeout or application crash during certain cutscenes while playing FINAL FANTASY XVI on some AMD Graphics Products, such as the Radeon™ RX 6600 XT.

Thank you this worked for me.

I had the same issue, it turns out that the cutscene after the fight is so long that your monitor goes automatically to sleep (which is weird because it shouldn’t happen with games). The fix is simple, just press a key/button every minute or so.

Glad to know Im not the only one with this issue. I am using a 5700xt and have played the game fine until now. I lowered the graphics settings to the minimum and still it kept crashing

You joke but it seems plenty of people suggest this "fix" seriously (or similar garbage)

Still crashing for me, 6950XT

I'm also stuck with a 6950XT and updated AMD drivers. Square Enix's silence and the lack of patching for over a month are totally abusive.
