If you're stuttering read this (Fix)
Step 1: go here C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XVI

Step 2: delete this file "ffxvi_b96bc3fb.psol" its the shader information

Step 3: reload the game, it will recompile the shaders, (took about 10-15 mins :p).

Step 4: if you get stuck in an infinite loading screen, just close the game out and relaunch. This actually fixed it for me.

Nothing else worked to fix the terrible stuttering, except this for me. Comment if it worked for you.

MY specs
RTX 4070ti, i7 9700k, 32gb ram, 1TB SSD. ( I had to delete my other post because this fix actually worked).

Edit: 30 minutes might have been a stretch.

You should also not forget to install the latest drivers from AMD and Nvidia.

9700k

Shader compiling is cpu, and his isn't quite the newest. 30 min seems a bit much though still.

Depends on system I think.

It might not have been 30 mins exactly guys lol, maybe like 20 I wasn’t staring at the screen the whole time, the important thing here is the fix itself. After that I was running 150-200 fps with frame gen on and no terrible stuttering.

i used 9700k, its a fast cpu even it lacks modern amount of threads. i d expect 15mins, okay but 30 seemed a bit excessive to me. wonder why really. might be memory bandwidth? its half of nowadays 12th 13th 14th gen cpus.

This fixed all the issues i had with my game slowing during combat low fps and alot of stutter after deleting and redoing the shaders it work completely fine

This is good advice. The demo and the full game share the same shader file but of course are not the same, and recompiling simply 'pads onto' that file. If it gets corrupt, everything goes to ♥♥♥♥.

So yeah, delete and clean recompile after you update drivers = generally no issues.

alrite , i tried. curiously re-compiling shaders only took 30secs this time and indeed got infinite loading screen on first launch. not a problem, close the window, press stop in library.

anyway, while fps didnt increase or decrease, indeed the stuttering on some cases gone. i was having stutters in hall of virtue or when opening glossary. they gone now. it also helped
response of some combos, like 1 melee attack + fire, often it wasnt registering for me.

so ye, thanks, helpful. you earned a big award.

didn't work for me, the game ran smoothly for about 30 seconds before going back to almost constant stuttering (i9-12900k, rtx 3060, 64gb ram, installed to m2 SSD)

Seems to have worked for me.
I deleted both the FINAL FANTASY XVI and FINAL FANTASY XVI DEMO folders from SquareEnix\.
Shaders compilation took only 10 sec instead of 5 min like the first time and I did not get an infinite loading screen.
I no longer get the constant stuttering I had before just running around and in the cutscenes.
Thanks!
Thank you.

It's not stuttering anymore, it is playable now. But it runs like ass. I don't know why it runs so badly. I don't expect 300 pfs on ultra or whatever, but still above 30 fps on the low settings....
I have a Geforce RTX 2070 Super i7-10750H 32gb ram 1,9 tb ssd, directX 12, 16 gb vram
I should be above the reccomended settings, right?
Can someone help?

What resolution are you running? Are you using DLSS or FSR? The game is very GPU intensive. At 4K with mid/high settings, my 3080ti can't even get 60fps without DLSS (or with DLAA). I switched to using FSR Quality so I could enable frame generation, and now I get ~90fps.

I've also had better luck with Borderless than Fullscreen (FS was giving me stuttering).
