What Exactly is Dynamic Resolution Scaling?
My question is what is Dynamic Resolution Scaling changing? I get that it changes the resolution, but is it the overall resolution to everything or is it to specific objects like terrain or background?

I'm playing at 4k Dlss Quality and everything else set to max and I'm trying to see if I see a difference with DRS activated and I really don't know if I can or if I do is it a placebo effect. lol

The game will automatically adjust the level of scaling depending on load to reach your framerate target (or do its best to, anyway). So for example if there is a scene that is particularily demanding, instead of lowering fps, it will lower the base resolution instead. Consoles use this trick all the time.

With DLSS Quality at 4k the game will always run at 1440p, upscaled to look 4k by DLSS.

If you turn on dynamic resolution DLSS then you'll set a target framerate (like 60 or 80) and the game will lower the resolution as needed to hit that framerate. Depending on your general performance this will either look better or worse. For example it might give you 1800p at times if your GPU is good enough, or it might drop lower than 1440p when it needs to.

If you set the target framerate to 120 or more you're going to get an ungodly blurry image because even a 4090 can't get close to that at any decent resolution.
