If you think they just randomly selected, or even out of some delusional idea they did it out of spite, countries to not allow their content, you are ill informed.
The game doesn't have to be specifically banned for there to be a reason it would not be legal in its current form, I don't know what that reason is. But I bet its there, I mean otherwise, you are turning down money for no reason. Not a very corporate thing to do. I am curious myself.

I was even playing FF14 the MMO but for some reason they blocked it in my region and now I can't access it anymore even though I downloaded the game.
I'm aware of FF16's LGBT content, but The Last of Us Part 2 has similar content and I can pre-purchase it on Steam just fine. I understand Square Enix's concerns, and yes it's my fault that I live in a middle eastern country, but they took it too far tbh.
