why sales are so low

Most people already played in on Playsation. Others are waiting for a sale, or waiting until they can upgrade to a PC they feel is worthy of playing it

I think as Sony are finding out now delaying big games on PC isn't great for sales, as the marketing is long gone, as is the general sense of excitement.

It's too bad as this is I think a pretty damn good game which must have cost an absolute fortune to make.

Things are changing though, Square are apparently now "aggressively multi-platform" so presumably big releases will launch on PC and Xbox day one in future.

I made it to the goblin quest and after just a few fights I thought that I will not want to do this for several hours.

You should give it another go. I'd have preferred turn based combat too, but it does get better as you gain more abilities. Plus the sheer epic nature of some of the battles is seriously impressive, they really spent the money on this. It's pure Final Fantasy spectacle.

honestly i had no clue it was coming out until a week or two before it did on pc and i wasnt even aware it had already released on pc5 so id say its more a lack of advertising then anythign else. they advertised ff15 all over the place and even made a movie and some ovas

Could also be that this isn't the only place to buy it. I bought it on the Epic store because I can get more out of my money there.

I mean, the game runs pretty bad on 80% of all PCs. People played the demo and gave up.

Also there's actually 7k reviews if you remove all filters. And thats just on steam, its also available on other stores, plus ps5. Though yeah it is still kind of lackluster, still I'm confident it will rise over time.

When I first played ff7r on steam I thought reviews seemed low, but now its a healthier 29k.

Still I think multiplatform at launch would help since marketing will have more of an impact and then hype doesn't die down before pc users have a chance to buy.

This is a branding problem, by having roman numerals after the sequel, they're indicating that the game is a sequel in most common terms. That scares people off because there's 15 (there's more but to them, roman numerals) games before that.

FF's problems don't come from gameplay or release schedules or even buggy products.

They come from misbranding and exclusive deals. That's why they're attempting to address both. Exclusives are done going forward, they just have to clear the exclusive deal catalogue up 1st and from what I've heard they're considering changing the roman numeral system they have since it's causing them messaging issues.

I agree, They should of also stuck to their convictions and made ff16 a full on action game, they where too afraid too and it hurt the game. People refuse to take them as what they are, Unique entries each and every one and lump it in with what they think the franchise should be.

It's just an average game at best, just a bad devil may cry clone, and most fans do not like it since it's so different from the other games. Also for anyone on here saying oh it was a ps5 game everyone that wanted to play it did. That's total BS if you look at Wukong, Space Marine 2 and Helldivers 2 they easily sold WAYY more than FFXVI and did very well on the ps5. The PC only community is very large and FF would have done very well on here if people truly thought the game was worth their time.

I know fans dont want to accept it but Final Fantasy isnt what it once was. 15 years ago a new FF game would of been a massive seller, one of the biggest of that year.
Not anymore though, and Sony moneyhatting exclusivity isnt helping either. Thankfully it sounds like Square are done with that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I doubt FF will ever get back to that once heralded position it had with gamers. I feel gamers have just moved on.
The ridiculous amount of time it took for them to develop 15 and the 7 remake didnt help either. Same with the switch from turn based to 'real time' (somehting i prefer but i know a lot of long time fans dont).

You can get the complete edition for around 45 on other sites, it's not like 7R which was 60-70 everywhere when it hit PC

Yeah, in my region at least, its cheaper than most new games. Thats why I ended up buying it over visions of mana. Well also the demo grabbed me a bit more.
