cutscenes lag...but flow normally when i jiggle the mouse

weird thing happening. the cutscenes lag for me and boy there seems to be alot of cutscenes but what i noticed is that if i move my mouse around during the cutscene the cutscene flows normally at a normal framerate but if i stop moving my mouse the cutscene turns back into a laggy slide show.

That's...weird. Are you using the framerate uncapper fix and the high priority for all related processes mod?

not using any "fixes" just playing a vanilla install no mods or fixes. i did try adjusting the graphics settings to see if that helped anything but it didnt so i reset them back to defaults.

Install this mod

It will uncap your frame rate in cutscenes, enable framegen in cutscenes and a few other minor goodies like FOV adjustment and motion blur with DLSS on.

Then install this mod.

All it does is sets your FF16 program affinity to high instead of normal so it doesn't get undercut by background processes that shouldn't be taking priority over FF16.
