Don't forget you will need double the space to decompress (for Steam pre-loads) if you pre-load so most probably wont want to do this since you need over 300 GB even before the DLC...

Steam does not store preloaded game in one big encrypted archive, it's devided into many parts which it deletes as archives are unloaded

Okay, that is much better than how they used to handle it in one massive chunk (usually required approximately double disk space back then). I haven't done a few years since internet speed is fast enough (except maybe once I forget) so didn't realize they improved it finally.
