Hi OP, is this game like older FFs (minus the battle mode as I know it's more action oriented)? I love Final Fantasy but I disliked everything between 10 up to 15 (12 was ok).
literally same
Something to be aware of is pacing though with the modern story heavy versions of JRPGs like Final Fantasy XVI and VII Remake. Due to having significantly beefy dialogue/scenes they feel way more abundant and gameplay is less frequent at times compared to the pacing of older games that often had shorter dialogue segments and thus more balanced gameplay to story ratio. This isn't bad and makes sense why, because they're speaking out loud and it is story rich but not everyone likes such heavy amounts of story at times.
FFX is my favourite.
I absolutely agree. My top 3 are FF6, FF16, and FF9. After that, I rate FF7 as #4 and FF15 as #5. I know others will disagree, but I really enjoyed those games. I wish they would do a FF6 remake because it (so far) has always been my favorite of the series.
For FF7 I prefer Remake's portion of Midgar over original (except Shinra building is better in original) and I suspect I'll prefer Rebirth over OG when it comes to PC. I'll treat them as one category tho otherwise FF7R > FF7 > FF9 > FF8.
