Is there any pre-download available? I wouldn't want to have to download 170GB on launch day.

it could be since the game is over 60GB big which is one of the conditions for this. but, at the end is it up to Square Enix wether they do or not. they could tho.

170gb as far as I know.

download file should be around half or %60 of game size. dont worry. even with 100mbps connection you should be able to download around 2-3 hrs.

PC demo is the same size on PS5 so full game is probably the same too: 112gb with DLCs.

why they put 170gb who knows

Would be super nice to have a preload since where I am I have to wait until midnight to avoid data caps, and that adds several more hours

But knowing Squeenix's track record on Steam, it's probably not happening (Though there have been exceptions)

No preloads are never a thing for PS exclusives coming to pcs later. Only one I remember was Horizon 2. Even GOW 2018 didnt have preload on pc

Those were first party exclusives published by Sony themselves, whereas FFXVI was a third party exclusive published by Square Enix. Sony is likely not involved in the PC port of FFXVI at all, so the decision of whether to make a preload available would be in Square Enix's hands
