Screen occasionally going black (monitor going to sleep?)

I'm encountering something a bit strange. This game runs fine generally speaking, but I found that on a few occasions, generally during a cutscene, my monitor seemed to go into sleep mode. Moving the mouse made it wake up and show a HDR symbol in the corner, indicating it wasn't just the game itself going black screen.

Doesn't happen in any other game. And it happens even if I'm using a controller. The controller doesn't seem to wake it up but I'm not absolutely sure about that.

Any ideas?

Same issue
On cutscenes sometimes

This port is garbage
I think display setting are altered while switching

Turn off your screen timeout to never in the lock screen menu within the windows menu??? Do you really have it set to 5-10 mins??

It’s a « no signal » on my TV.
Only for this game.
Temps are low, way way below throttling threshold (even the max ones). I capped at 60 FPS so my rig is not even at 100%.

I set up the game in full screen mode (so more options to tell it’s HDR etc.), maybe it will work. This Happening with many cutscenes transition so I wonder if Ont not a signal change. I will see in the future.

As you say, you see a HDR logo. On full screen tou can toggle HDR while in windowed mode there is no option so maybe it turns on and off itself, resulting in no signal.

So playing in full screen mode fixed the thing.
I feel like the game switches signal in some way during cutscenes and sometimes the TV could not follow.

Damn what’s wrong with this game ?

Did u perhaps discovered what caused this issue? I'm having a similar problem, both my monitor turn off and go back on when pressing the start button. It happened 3 to 4 times and the 2nd time I had a blue screen. After that I reinstalled the drives. I just got a RTX 4070 yesterday so I want to know if the gpu is the problem, or this game (for now it only happened with FF16)
