The game will stutter above 30 fps, there's no fixing that. There's nothing wrong with your PC, it's the game.

When exactly is this stuttering happening? On my system I only had some minor hitching during that opening QTE battle. The 4090 seems able to handle it with settings at maximum. 4K resolution. DLAA.

Use legacy scaling and dynamic resolution scaling with a framecap of 60. Also close every app that isn't ff16. The game needs every bit of avaliable vram. Even turn hardware acceleration off for windows.

Game had no stutters for me but I have a high end pc. None the less I have talked to lots of people with 4070 supers who played the game without issue. I still believe there's some variable we are unaware of that only affects some PCs.

And I know this is probably sounds like a stupid question, but people have done this wrong so I just have to make sure, your gpu is in the top slot right? The one that connects directly to the cpu? You can use GPU_Z to make sure its using all 16 lanes. But yeah you really don't want that in chipset slot because the chipset is connected to the cpu with only 4 lanes.
