This. The fact it's classified as jrpg just because it's made from SE and has the FF name it's ridicolous. This is nothing but a hack and slash with some spruce elements of rpg.

Well this game isn't even popular on the PS5, it went far too medieval with no technology at all other than toys. The Story is also very dark which makes it not family friendly.

People could also try the demo to see if they like it.

I tried it, didn't like the gameplay, so I skipped out.

Without the demo, I wouldn't have even tried it as videos already hinted at gameplay I might not like.

I feel like the biggest mistake Square made was making that switch over from turn based in the first place, people who are fans of the older games are unlikely to want action hack and slash from this dev because turn based jrpgs are what fans all grew up on for Square, FF7 especially is a good example of this, everyone remembers how fun that was despite the genre its in and then all of a sudden the reboot has none of that, Im sure there had to be a way to evolve it without removing it entrely

The game certainly has its issues, but the idea that it needs to be family friendly as a reason for low sales is patently absurd.

Wow. You don't hear that one very often. Usually its the opposite. "this isn't dark enough" "its too woke/inclusive"..... man..... gamers will complain about anything these days. You could call anybody anything, whether its true or not its a different question entirely.

EDIT: Besides, didn't even say it was a loud minority, I said I hope it is. Basically just wanted to make it clear that I don't think every gamer is that thin skinned.
