Does the game get better? Is it worth finishing?

I enjoyed what i played. The tone, visuals and story were all fairly interesting for a while. I enjoyed the combat.

But then i just hit a point where i stopped caring and didn't feel enthusiastic about slogging on with the game.

I'm about 9 hours in. I have been taking my time. Doing side quests (although these are so brain dead boring that i've started to skip these) but now even the main story just drags.

Gone to some town. Helped a prostitute. Can't even remember why. I switched off.

But does the game pick back up at all? Is this just a low point in the middle and things get back on track? I feel bad not finishing the game but at the same time i'm wondering if its even worth the time.

Not really the story falls off after half way through and it starts getting really grindy. The spectatle boss fights are really cool but I don't know if that's enough for you to push through something you aren't enjoying IMO.

I think the side quests are great. I'm playing veilguard right now and that has some boring side quests. ff16 I always enjoyed the side quests. But maybe its just because I loved the world and characters so much I didn't care if they were just bantering about nothing.

Haha funnily enough i don't mind them in veilguard.
But i do find the structure of both games surprisingly similar.

Totally. I like both. Just liked ff16 a bit more.

12,000 reviews and 78% rating is not a flop. It certainly could have done better but calling it a flop is just hyperbole. Thats average for an AAA game. Probably disappointing for square but they always have such high expectations because of their past domineering position. Anyway flop means to fail completely.

This isn't a flop. flop is getting 1000 reviews and a negative review score. Seriously, look up the definition of flop, its not to miss your target and to get the lower end of projections its to 'to fail completely' as per webster.

It got beat by metaphor, which released a month after, and has no decades-long franchise title carrying it.

In the case of an expensive project like a game or a movie, a flop just means it doesn't do what it's supposed to for the company.

If a star sports player is expected to save a team's season, and he ♥♥♥♥♥ up and they are eliminated, but he's still scored lots of points, that doesn't mean anything.

Yep i am pushing on because of what people were saying here. Sounds like most people enjoy it but said its pacing does go up and down.

Overall i really love the game, the story, the visuals and combat and i think i just spent a bit too much time on side quests and then got distracted by another game and when i came back it felt a bit difficult to get back into!

No and No. The first half of the game is decent and held together by Cid, the rest is just a slog. Combat is just find a combo that works for you and apply it to every fight. By the end it felt like I was just following a DPS rotation. I pushed through and finished it, I was left never wanting to touch this game again and never will.

Nope, I originally Slog on hoping we get a flying airship. The original Airship we get is a toy so not worth it.

For me the game was amazing.
Yes, halfway through some quests got tedious, but this happens in every game, even if some people deny it.
People always complain that a game becomes monotonous and repetitive...LOL yes, if you play or do something non-stop for hours it's obvious that this will happen to you
