No idea how blood and gore aren't Final Fantasy. Most FF games were on much older weaker hardware and couldn't show such things in detail, nor was it really necessary but blood isn't new (like Squall's intro cutscene as an example), or gore (FF7 Aerith's death, barrett losing hand, technological limitations of course... Type -0 pretty much everyone dying... and so forth). No idea about the sexual scenes since I've not played it but minor suggestive content isn't that big of a deal. Prior FF games have kissing, cradling, etc. This appears to be a more mature theme depiction like FF8 compared to some other entries, especially with more advanced hardware/graphics.
Hint: You can tell because it's in the title.
i see a lot of people saying this isn't FF, to which im always confused, cause its just more of the same as they have done a dozen times now.
what exactly is "not consistent and below the ff game standards" cause saying that by itself is a non starter; what exactly do you specifically consider to call it a ff game or not?
The game is good I'm not saying it's bad I enjoyed the demo I'm defiantly going to buy it but what I'm saying is that it's missing a lot of that special FF game vibes that we used to in previous games it feels like a downgrade for example the animations in FFXV compared to FFXVI the overall quality of FFXV is on another level compared to FFXVI.
cause if its about animations, i feel using 15 is a bit lackluster with how jittery they can get on slopes, and a lot of their attacks were very simple swings. also: not really a ff thing, thats just a critique about animations, which is fair even i disagree, but doesn't really tell us what these "FF" vibes are.
but the objective fact of the matter is that it is a final fantasy game, like every other final fantasy game has been, no matter how good or bad they have been, even 11 lol.
final fantasy is, ultimately, a very generic fantasy game series, it tries new things in every games and has no real set setting or concept, it only has commonly use traits.
crystals, summons, chocobos, sure, but thats about it, and even then, not always a thing.
sometimes turn based, sometimes real time, sometimes an mmo, but always still ff.
so i guess to go back to the beginning:
unless you can genuinely state what exactly makes it not a FF game beyond just "feels wrong"
cause to me, i have always considered final fantasy games simply an encapsulated rpg in which the story starts and finished within the same game, that likes to play with its fantasy concepts and takes itself seriously within its mainline series.
and to that, it has shown to be just that to me.
