Golden Skull / Red Gems
So now that we know how to unlock all the levels and Archers (if you don't, see this thread - SPOILERS : http://steamcommunity.com/app/251470/discussions/0/558749825446785275/)

I was wondering what was the Golden Skull (Quest) and the Red Gems (Trials) showing in the Archives ?

White skull is for normal, red is for hardcore, what does the golden stands for ?
Also, I've currently unlocked 13 stages (Gauntlet being the last one, after Ascension) but in the Archive it's saying that I've finished 13 out of 14 quests ...
So my guess is that there may be an extra level if you finish all the level on hardcore mode (because normal mode doesn't give anything more). I'm currently working on it (11/13 hardcore right now, I will try the two last tomorrow on co-op) but has anyone finished them all yet to confirm my guess ?

Same thing goes for the Red Gems, I guess it's something unlocked after you've finished all 36 trials with blue gems score. I'm actuallt at 30/36 blue but the last 6 are really hardcore ... So anyone who has 36/36 already to tell what's the red gems ?

i have the 13/14 as well in the archives section for quest and all the archers. i was looking at the games files and i noticed for quest mode there's a monster gauntlet and a skeleton gauntlet. Perhaps you are right about having to finish all levels on hardcore.

Golden skull is Hardcore without any deaths. And there are 2 Gauntlet stages, making a total of 14 quests. And I believe that the Red Gems are if you beat the dev time.

How do you get the second Gauntlet stage ? Finishing the first on Hardcore ?

The second gauntlet unlocks after beating all the others on hardcore (just the red skulls, not the golden ones).

And, unless this is faked, Gauntlet III unlocks after golden skulling every level.

There is no Gauntlet III. Can confirm, I have all Gold Skulls. There is a Dark Gauntlet in the Dark World Expansion however.

The Red Pearls are for beating the Trials developer records. They are very very hard. See this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M62vdaI6bLo

The dark gauntlet is completely separate from the normal gauntlet.
Dark gauntlet is a boss rush.
Anyway, the normal gauntlet isn't really important, but it was one of the first doses of randomness the game got before dark world.

Just managed to get 13 Hardcore levels beat, and holy crap, Gauntlet II is evil on Hardcore.

The red enemy archers can be tricky but there's a few strategies to lame them out. Basically bait them into firing all the arrows so they're empty, then approach and wait for them to dodge at which point spam arrows at them. Watch out for jumps after a dodge and be getting stomped. Trying for a head stomp is usually not worth the risk.

A relatively safe way to get them to fire at you is to fall past them, holding down to go faster. This can be easily done on Gauntlet II using the endless drops on either side of the stage. See this video for that and other strategies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyJZrwz-E88

The alternative is to just face them down, fire an arrow point blank which they will 90% of the time dodge into and then shoot them in the dodge cooldown. You will however lose an arrow so it's best only to do so when there is ample arrows at hand.

Final tip for Gauntlet II: enemy archers will do nothing against a Drill Arrow that is fired at them from below when they are standing on the ground. Camp up near the ceiling and take them down one at a time when they're walking around at the bottom of the stage.
