Game won't start when using 2560x1600 resolution
"The Inner World" game freezes even before the opening cut scene when using my monitor's native resolution of 2560x1600. When I start the game, all I get is a black screen. The cursor has changed to the carot/flute/nose pointer thing, but there is nothing for it to click on -- no music plays, no splash screens, no nothin'.

I finally got the game to start by lowering the resolution to anything lower than 2560x1600. But of course I would like to play the game at my monitor's native resolution so I don't have to manually go into my control panel and change resolution every time I play the game.

An acceptable workaround would be to change resolution via a game specific config file or something, but I haven't been able to find one for this game. Is this possible? (I can force it to run in 640x480 in the exe file's compatibility options, but c'mon; 640x480 is way too low. All I need is something slightly less than 2560x1600).

System:
Windows 8.1
Video: GeForce GTX690 x 2 (for quad SLI)
Processor: Intel i7 3970x extreme
Memory: 64 gig.

Debugging steps so far:
Installed latest video drivers (no effect)
Installed latest Adobe Flash Player (no effect)
Installed latest Adobe Air (no effect)
Installed latest Adobe Shockwave Player (no effect)
Disabled SLI (no effect)
Run exe file as administrator (no effect)
Force compatibility mode to various earlier versions of windows (no effect)
Change resolution to anything lower than 2560x1600 in windows control panel (success, but looking for better workaround)

Any ideas?

Update: I found a poor workaround, sort of.

Once I can get the game to start (using a lower resolution), I can force the game into windowed mode in the game settings (by unchecking the FULLSCREEN option in the game's settings menu). Then I can change back to 2560x1600 resolution. The next time the game starts it runs in its own, smaller window (2048x1152).

But this is not ideal. I would really like to run the game fullscreen, and without having to manually change my computer's resolution every time I play the game.

Any ideas?

(btw, using Alt+Enter doesn't work. The game remains in windowed mode.)

Hi there Burger!

The Inner World unfortunately doesn't officially support higher Resolutions thean 1920x2080 (Full HD). That's why it could cause those problems!
