The name of the site is not censored by Steam. It's not a shady site. Sure they do have their own currency (blue coins) but you don't have to use it and it's meant to reward returning customers (it's a loyalty/purchase reward, look it up you can get some for writing reviews for the games you've purchased there).
For what it's worth I've been purchasing games there for years and I never had a problem.
Bottom line they still have keys for sale so if you really want to grab one it's worth looking into it (they're based in Sweden, google them and see for yourself).
As I said before the virtual currency there is something that rewards returning customers and you don't have to use it.
For the record Steam wallet money is a virtual currency. ;)
If that's not a big enough clue I don't know what else there is to say.
I totally understand you don't want to buy a game from GamersGate but please don't go and compare it to the most notorious grey market site.
For the record I would never recommend for anyone to support the likes of G2A!
I actually resent that you're implying that I do support shady online stores "taking advantage of people" as you put it... Serves me right for trying to help a fellow Steam user I guess.
Frankly I don't really care whether or not you purchase the game. It's entirely up to you and if you're too lazy or agumentative to google GamersGate and find out whether they're legit or not then it is certainly your problem, not mine.
I've only been trying to help but I don't have to deal with accusations that I'm trying to scam people especially when anyone with a few minutes to spare can verify what I've posted simply by googling the name of the store.
I advise anyone reading this thread to do their own research and see for themselves as this whole exchange is utterly pointless and I certainly don't have to interact with someone who seems unable (or unwilling which is probably worse) to use a search engine.
EDIT: I've blocked you so feel free to reply to this post but don't expect me to acknowledge anything you may want to add at this point. I've wasted enough time already.
For the record I've just checked and it turns out that the game is also available on Amazon (but I doubt that it will good enough for the OP anyway).
Sorry but that's basically what such virtual currency does. There are many ways to take advantage of people. Flash Sales take advantage of people by creating both a time limit and the illusion of false sscarcity which generally short circuits a person's normal internal purchase evaluationb. It;s why 'you gotta act now' or some other variant is a popular line sales people.
Virtual currency tends to obfuscate its own value which generally makes it harder to equate it to a fixed value point.
Not saying they're shady, just saying i don't support that sort of thing. For the same reason I don't buy games with freemium economies.
That's a strawman and you know it. Never said anything against you. Nor have I ever said in this entire thread that the site you mentioned was shady or a scam.
You seem to be one of those peoplke who have problems with people not immediately accepting their advice. You should see someone about that.
