after playing the shadow one I can't go back to the less polished sonic one
It always was a trial and error to me since reacting to upcoming obstacles at high speeds is actually impossible, and it wouldn't be so bad if loading after restarting didn't take so long compared to the vanilla version.
You got used to the superior turning of Frontiers/Shadow, which is much much closer to the Adventure games in actually allowing you to turn and platform with precision.
Sonic Generations is still good, but it still has the stiff movement of boost games that released before like Unleashed.
I take that as a total win in the end (Unleashed is impressive as the fastest or second fastest game in the series, not sure. But that speed did a number on the controls and platforming making it stiff and more difficult to move in anything that isn’t a straight line)
