Why does Classic Sonic feel off?
As someone who grew up playing the Classic Sonic games Sonic 1, Sonic 2 , Sonic 3 and knuckles, Sonic CD. The controls felt way better and there was physics in the classic games but in Sonic gens classic Sonic feels heavier and when you go down hills and stuff you don't gain momentum. Classic Sonic is very physics and momentum based so the physics not working is strange I think that's why the Spindash is so op in this game. This game is a remake of sonic gens but did not fix Classic Sonic. Can someone tell me any mods to get physics and momentum for classic Sonic?

classic sonic has always been off in generations. in fact i'd argue to say that 2d meta era sections have always been scuff.

It's the camera, it hasn't been fixed since the first game.

because it’s not actual 2D gameplay. its a 2D camera on a 3D plane with 3D physics akin to boost sonic. its haphazardly put together & sega got away with it because “nostalgia” .

classic sonic gameplay is terrible

The game play isn't exactly terrible, but if you're coming for a 1 to 1 recreation of Classic Sonic physics, you're in the wrong place.

they could have gone with rush or advance physics but they didn't do either.

Classic Sonic feels off because his physics have nothing to do with classic Sonic gameplay. They just give you a go stupidly fast button and call it a day.

i’d say classic sonic is in the wrong place and has no business in a 3D game , but sure .

Isn't that kind of the major gimmick they sold Generations with? It worked back in 2012 but now that we've gotten way better 2D Sonic titles that play like classic Sonic it sticks out like a sore thumb.

It was always awful but modders can't really fix it because the level design is built around the crap physics.

The physics in Sonic Rush were at least fine because we were expected to use boosts very often. Sonic 4 Episode 1 reused the Sonic Rush engine, meaning it inherited its physics. It was supposed to play like the Genesis titles. Guess what happened next

I get that impression. The fan games seem to have done a better job along with Sonic Mania.
