SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS

Sonic new game
Am I the only one who thinks that Sega doesn't know what to do with Sonic? Like, either they make a game based on the classic 2D games but with better graphic quality and 3D parts like Sonic Generations, Sonic Colors, Sonic x Shadows Generations, or they try to innovate and make Sonic Frontiers or that game where Sonic turns into a werewolf Luffy
I prefer games that are more related to Sonic, like sports games or games that are completely fantasy and focused on expansive lore, like Sonic Riders and Sonic Adventure. But I really like fan-made games much more, like Sonic games made in the Flash engine, like Final Fantasy Sonic X, even if it has Nintendo or other characters. I would really like to see a 2D or 3D Sonic game that has combat, racing, the usual epic music, evolutions, items, and characters we've never seen, like the ones in the comics back then and now, or even new but good characters... because Sonic Frontiers did a lot of that and failed, in my opinion Frontiers is a mistake, whenever Sega tries to do that it fails every time... why?

I would prefer a game that would be divided into parts (not with DLCs, ugh), but instead one hour is combat like Tekken or that Sonic combat game, or something better, one hour is like Sonic Riders or something like Sonic x Shadow Generations, and another hour is the boss fight or something that expands the lore.

but unfortunately there will be a rain of toxicity in the comments because Sega has already done all of this and failed

sega is slowly pushing back towards adventure era gameplay as the new CEO even said they wanted to get sega back into a dreamcast era sega.
they've expressed multiple times that they've wanted to do both a remake and sequel to adventure games. but they want to get the new recruits more time with the hedgehog engine.

also frontier was not a mistake it's one of sonic franchises biggest successes in recent years and the reason shadow gen was even allowed to happen. if sonic frontier failed then sonic would be no more as the dev teams themselves had stated.

i'd say quite the opposite now. sega actually has a direction they want sonic to go now. after the success of frontier they now know that people WANT story based sonic games. which should have been a no brainier considering the most successful games have been frontier adventure and adventure 2. with cult classics like heroes and unleashed being runners up.

honestly instead of more sports games i'd argue we need LESS racing games i am honestly sick of the "sonic in a car." games they keep pumping out every year. never made sense and never will make sense.

however mini games like sonic advance rush and even sonic battle would defiantly be something i want to see going forward.

you’re not the only one at all, but i think it’s only a few of us left since it seems like a lot of sonic fans from the early 2000s just disappeared from earth

I personally am waiting for the year of Espio and a game that explains his origins and introduces people like other ninjas. His own side-series like Tails and Knuckles got...
