We have to many sonic battle references lately for me to let it slide that we haven't gotten a proper fighting game for sonic in 24 years.
Sonic has a igg enough roster to fill out a fighting game quite easily.

Honestly I prefer sonic battles play style the card system was really good and I feel like each characters have 3 sets of styles would make for a good experience especially since on a modern system a lot of the old jank can be removed. Sonic the fighters was a bit to rudementry compared to the unique style battle presentee regardless having a proper sonic fighting game in an era where sonic combat system has been so flushed out would make for a fun experience.

yeah it could work because there so many characters with different abilities and im pretty sure theres a fan game thats a sonic fighting game.

Sonic Battle...that was my first GBA game. I don't think I ever ended up beating the final Eggman fight without using the OP combo cards. 😆
But another fighting game would be great. They could make some really cool movesets out of the new characters we've had since then
